Question
i have an 8 year old daughter and i have noticed that one breast has started to develop before the other one and she complains at times about it being sore. is this normal. thanks for your time
Answer
What she has is a condition called as thelarche. This may be the first sign of puberty in her. Usualy thelarche occurs after the age of 10-12 years. However, in some girls breast development may start earlier at 8 years of age. However, if it starts earlier than that, then it is premature thelarche and one may need to find out the cause for the same and treat the same.
