Question
My 7 yr old son has just been diagnosed with many upper supernumerary teeth. What are procedures to correct condition?
Answer
You haven't mentioned if the supernumerary teeth were diagnosed clinically or radiographically. If they are clinically present in the mouth, and obstructing the normal eruption of the other teeth, they are best extracted. Even if they are present in the radiograph, and not in the mouth, it is best advised to extract them, as they may turn cystic. Please do consult your dentist, either a pediatric dentist or an oral sugeon about the same.
