Question Category : Constipation
My 8 year old daughter was born with an 'anterior anus' which until now has never bothered her. Our GP has refered her to the hospital because it's becoming painful during bowel movement. What can we expect? Will she require surgery? Every professional I talk to has never come across this before & I'm worried sick. Please get in touch, I really need answers to my questions. Melissa

Question Category : Constipation
My 9 month old baby seems to have constipation. She has difficulty to pass the motion. However she eats a lot of fruits, vegetables & drinks a lot of water. Could it be because she takes too much iron from spinach, meat/fish & iron fortified cereal? Or is she eating too much food?
Is 3 days of not passing motion normal?
Question Category : Constipation
My daughter is 2yrs old, she has been constipated since she was born but it has become much more severe in the last 6 mths. She is on 60ml of liquid paraffin a day. Over the last couple of weeks she is vomiting sometimes 3 times per day other times once, she is waiting for an appointment for a paediatric surgeon to have a look at her, I would just like to know when do I get worried about her, or is it ok just to wait for the appointment

Question Category : Constipation
My daughter is 15 months old she frequently has problems with constipation, her doctor only suggests I change her diet, but it does not seem to be working. When she has bowel movements they are extremely hard to the point where there is a tint of blood on the stool, and when she has a bowel movement she only does a little sometimes or she will try to hold it in since it hurts her. A friend is taking Aloe juice and it seems to help her, is my daughter old enough to take that or is there something else I could do for her since the diet is not helping? If there is anything else that you could suggest besides consulting her doctor, I would greatly appreciate it. This has been going on for some time and I really don't like seeing my daughter go through so much pain when she needs to pass stool. Thank you

Question Category : Constipation
My daughter is 6 months old. When she was born the doctor said she has an anterior anus. The only visually thing wrong with her is that her anus and vagina are very close together. No test have ever been done. Since she was born we have had problems with constipation. We usually have to give an enema once a week. She is on baby food so we make sure she doesn't have rice, bananas, apples etc. My question is what is the difference in an Anterior anus and an Imperforate anus and do you have any information on these conditons? I have had a terrible time finding any information.

My 5 yr old son has extreme constipation. He has had the problem since birth. He only goes now with the help of laxatives and even on them he holds back for days. He WILL NOT eat anything!!! Question Category : Constipation
I have a 2.5 yr old son who has a hemorrhoid that appears after he goes #2. We probably noticed this in the last 6 mths or so. His pediatrician says that there is not much to do as long as it is not all the time or causing him any pain. My question is what to do to get rid of it and what it means for such a young person to get hemorrhoids? Does it mean that he will have those types of problems his whole life? He has really never had any constipation issues and regularly goes once and occasionally twice in one day. Please let me know if you can answer my questions. It's very disturbing to us! Thanks!
Question Category : Constipation
My one month old son has very painful bowel movements. He frequently wakes up screaming when he has to pass a stool or has bad gas. He also turns red in the face and sometimes whimpers. I can tell that he is in a lot of pain. He is exclusively breast fed and has the yellow seedy stools. Is this normal?
