It is made of plastic and is used for collection of urine in a catheterised patient. It has an air tight mechanism which prevents infection of the urine. The urine from the bag has to be drained off once the bag becomes full. It does not need to be changed regularly. It is available in a presterile pack (to be used once) and is steralized by irradiation.
